Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to common questions about this service
What is the difference between Private Limited Company, LLP, and OPC?
A Private Limited Company suits startups looking for investment and scale — it has shareholders, directors, and stricter compliance. An LLP (Limited Liability Partnership) suits professionals and small businesses wanting flexibility with limited liability and lower compliance. An OPC (One Person Company) is ideal for solo entrepreneurs who want the benefits of a company without needing a co-founder.
How long does company registration take?
Typically 7–10 working days for a Private Limited Company or LLP, including name approval, document verification, and MCA filing. DSC procurement can add 1–2 days if done simultaneously.
Can I register a company from my home address in Kerala?
Yes. A residential address can be the registered office address for a company, as long as you have valid proof — electricity bill, rental agreement, or NOC from the property owner.
How many directors do I need for a Private Limited Company?
A minimum of 2 directors (and 2 shareholders) are required. Maximum is 15 directors. At least one director must be a resident of India (present in India for at least 182 days in the preceding calendar year).
Can an NRI or foreign national be a director of an Indian company?
Yes. NRIs and foreign nationals can be directors of Indian companies. However, at least one director must be an Indian resident. Additional regulatory filings may apply for foreign shareholders.
What are the annual compliance requirements after incorporation?
Private Limited Companies must file annual returns with MCA, conduct an annual AGM, file income tax returns, and maintain statutory registers. LLPs have similar but lighter requirements. We offer annual compliance packages to handle all of this.
Is a startup eligible for DPIIT recognition after registration?
Yes. Private Limited Companies, LLPs, and OPCs incorporated within the last 10 years with turnover below ₹100 crore can apply for DPIIT startup recognition — unlocking tax benefits under Section 80-IAC, easier compliance, and faster IP registration.
I already have a sole proprietorship. Should I convert it to a company?
If your turnover is growing, you're targeting corporate clients, or you want to bring in investors or partners, converting to a Private Limited Company or LLP makes strong business sense. We advise and handle the conversion process.
